Frequently Asked Questions
What are image filters?
Image filters are pre-defined effects that modify the appearance of photos. They can change colors, contrast, sharpness, and overall mood of an image to achieve different visual styles.
What filters are available?
We offer 9 filters: Grayscale (black & white), Sepia (warm vintage), Blur (soft focus), Sharpen (crisp detail), Invert (negative colors), Vintage (aged look), Contour (edge outline), Emboss (3D relief), and Edge (highlight edges).
What's the difference between Grayscale and Sepia?
Grayscale converts images to pure black and white, while Sepia adds warm brown tones similar to old photographs. Sepia creates a nostalgic, vintage feel.
What does the Sharpen filter do?
The Sharpen filter enhances edge definition and fine details, making images appear crisper. It's useful for slightly blurry photos or adding punch to portraits.
What image formats are supported?
The filter tool supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF formats. Output maintains your original format for maximum compatibility.
Can I apply multiple filters?
Currently, you can apply one filter at a time. To combine effects, download the filtered image and upload it again for a second filter.
Do filters affect image quality?
Filters process the image but maintain the original resolution. Some filters like Blur intentionally reduce detail. For best results, start with high-quality source images.
What's the Emboss filter used for?
The Emboss filter creates a 3D relief effect, making the image look like it's stamped into paper or metal. It's popular for artistic effects and textures.
Are my images stored on your servers?
No, your images are processed in real-time and never permanently stored. They're automatically deleted after processing for your privacy.
What's the maximum file size?
The maximum file size is 20MB. For larger files, use our Image Compressor tool first to reduce file size.
