Frequently Asked Questions
What is image brightness?
Brightness controls the overall lightness or darkness of an image. Increasing brightness makes images lighter, while decreasing makes them darker. It affects all tones equally.
What is image contrast?
Contrast is the difference between the lightest and darkest parts of an image. Higher contrast makes lights lighter and darks darker, creating more visual impact. Lower contrast creates a flatter, softer look.
What is image saturation?
Saturation controls the intensity of colors. Higher saturation makes colors more vivid and vibrant. Lower saturation reduces color intensity, with 0 producing a grayscale image.
What do the slider values mean?
All sliders use 1.0 as the default (no change). Values below 1.0 decrease the effect, values above 1.0 increase it. For example, brightness 0.5 is darker, 1.5 is brighter.
How do I fix a dark or underexposed photo?
Increase brightness (try 1.3-1.6) and slightly increase contrast (1.1-1.3) to restore detail. You may also boost saturation slightly if colors look washed out.
How do I make colors more vibrant?
Increase saturation above 1.0 (try 1.2-1.5). Be careful not to oversaturate, which can look unnatural. Slight contrast increase also helps colors pop.
What image formats are supported?
This tool supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF formats. Output maintains your original format.
Can I reset to default values?
Yes! Click the "Reset to Default" button to return all sliders to 1.0, which represents the original image without adjustments.
Is my image stored on your servers?
No, your images are processed in real-time and never permanently stored. They're automatically deleted after processing.
What's the maximum file size?
The maximum file size is 20MB. For larger files, use our Image Compressor tool first.
